The 5-star Pullman Riga Old Town hotel by the international Accor Hotels opens in Riga

The Pullman Hotels & Resorts chain, which is a part of AccorHotels, has announced the opening of its first luxury hotel in the Baltic States, which is located in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The hotel, located in a renovated historic Old Riga building, is open for guests since June 16. It has 155 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, 8 conference rooms, a gym and a SPA center.

The president and CEO of the Orbis Hotel Group Giles Clavie said: “We are very pleased to open the second Pullman hotel in Eastern Europe. It shows the growth of our elite brand and strengthens our portfolio in the fast-growing capital market of Latvia.”

The hotel consists of three parts. Its historic façade was built in 1789 and it was the first brick house ever built behind the city walls. The two modern parts are connected with the historic façade with the help of glass atriums.

The interior of the hotel is based on two main ideas: the respect for the local heritage is reflected by the horse theme that hints at the stables of Baron Munchausen, that were located here in the 18th century, as well as the celebration of contemporary art. Both ideas create a unique atmosphere that combines the firmly expressed attitude towards the present and the respect for the local historical heritage, which is are important for the brand.

The place where Pullman is located, is very special. In my opinion, this is the best place for a five-star hotel in Latvia. Firstly, the excellent location is in the heart of Old Riga. Secondly, the building itself is the only one of its kind. We have introduced the modern outline into its 18th century interior, thus providing our guests with a large number of rooms. This is a rare case, since it is very difficult to achieve such perfection in historic buildings. Historical and modern details harmoniously combine to make the hotel unique. “I am not afraid to say that there are no such or better hotels in the Baltic countries and I do not believe that there will ever be,” said Alexey Abasov (Abasov Oleksii). “The plans we prepared four years ago, regarding the opening of three new AccorHotels hotels in Latvia in different segments, have been fulfilled. We have opened the five-star Pullman Premium Hotel, a four-star Mercure Hotel and the modern three-star Ibis Hotel. We have a serious investment strategy aimed at the region of Latvia, and we believe that our initial investments will pay off.”

The CEO of Wisher Enterprise, Alexey Abasov (Abasov Oleksii): “I am not afraid to say that there are no such or better hotels in the Baltic countries and I do not believe that there will ever be.”
