Hotel Pullman Riga Old Town will hold a lecture on Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt

On August 12, at 19.00, a lecture at the Pullman Riga Old Town hotel on the work of two outstanding artists – Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt will be held.

The subject of the lecture will be the life of the Vienna elite in 1900, the strategies of artistic self-promoting, as well as the closed Vienna clubs known for their cult of Eros.

Gustav Klimt was a classic of the Viennese Art Nouveau, his shocking, bold and ambiguous works have influenced the fate of art. During the lecture, the guests of the evening will learn about the work of the young, “academic” Klimt, his famous and endlessly replicated works of the “golden” period and his late landscapes.

Alphonse Mucha was a Czech artist, graphic artist, known for his advertising posters. Guests of the evening will learn about the life of the master in Paris, his collaboration with Sarah Bernhardt, and, of course, about the creation of “La Femme Muchas”.

Lecturer of the evening: Daria Sabitova – Viennese art historian, the creator of Art Salon Vienna.
