Hotel Pullman Riga Old Town has been recognized as the best in the Baltics

Located in the old town, the prestigious Pullman Riga Old Town hotel, the AccorHotels five-star hotel, has been awarded the Baltic Real Estate Awards 2017, ranking first among the TOP 5 best hotels in the Baltics.

The Baltic Real Estate Awards 2017 prize is awarded to the best real estate projects implemented in 2016 in the Baltics in several categories – office buildings, shopping centers, residential buildings and hotels. Two Lithuanian hotels (Artagonist in Vilnius and Vytautas Mineral SPA in Birštonas), two Estonain hotels (Hilton Tallinn Park in Tallinn and Lydia Hotel in Tartu), as well as the Pullman luxury hotel in the Old Town of Riga were nominated as this year’s Best hotel & tourism resort.

The hotels nominated for this award were evaluated according to the following criteria: architecture and interior design, how innovative and contemporary are the interior furnishings and layout, the location, the level of convenience for the clients, as well as the pleasure of staying in the hotel, services offered and opportunities for entertainment and relaxation. Taking into account all these criteria, the jury awarded the most points to the Pullman Riga Old Town hotel in Riga.

“We are very proud of this award, because this is a consequence of the hard work if the entire team of architects, designers, engineers and specialists of the Accor Hotel chain,” commented Alexey Abasov (Abasov Oleksii), during the award ceremony.

The hotel is located in the historic center of Riga, on the Jēkaba street, and consists of three parts. The historic façade building was built in 1789 and it became the first brick building outside the fortress wall of the city. The glass-covered courtyards connect the historic façade of the building with the two modern parts of it. In the 18th century the stables of Baron Munchausen were located in this place, which is the reason why the hotel is decorated with horse-related objects that harmonize with the contemporary art and design. Thanks to its architects and interior designers, Pullman Riga Old Town has achieved a distinctly modern design that is typical of five-star hotels in the Baltics and Northern Europe. Unlike the boutique style and the classic premium-class style, this hotel offers a wider range of services otherwise known as Pullman Junction. You can enjoy a relaxing holiday at Tea Deli or at the Equus Restaurant and Bar. The guests also highly appreciate the gym and the Pullman Fit & SPA with its 20-meter pool on the seventh floor with the view over Bastejkalns, as well as six specially designed conference rooms.

“It was not easy to set the hotel up, considering the location of it and the density of the buildings, but we still managed to complete the construction of the largest 5-star hotel in Latvia. It is already the fifth hotel of this chain, located in several countries, that we have in our portfolio and this summer we will open the sixth one, but Pullman Riga Old Town is unique in terms of combining the history of the building and the integration of modern architectural elements and innovations in the hotel business. The market in Latvia is saturated in terms of the number of hotels, but is not very developed in terms of quality, therefore, by realising such projects, they are automatically beyond any competition,” continued Alexey Abasov.

Pullman Hotel & Resorts is the international Accor Hotels brand hotel of the highest class and the world’s leading hotel operator. The Pullman chain includes over one hundred hotels in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific and Latin America, and is proud of its sophisticated design and luxury services.
